Our Values

Whanaungatanga – Relationships are the key to learning.

All tamariki and whānau will experience trusting, warm, respectful relationships. This ensures a strong sense of security, belonging and well-being for all.

Kotahitanga – Unity and oneness

We value creating a community of learners as learning is most meaningful when there are opportunities to participate in authentic experiences within our wider community. We strive to make meaningful connections for our tamariki across a variety of settings and identify their wider world as an integral part of their learning journey.

Ako – To teach and to learn.

We value providing a responsive curriculum that is consistent with Te Whāriki and in tune with the tamariki’s strengths and interests. We have a strong focus on tuakana/teina by utilising our older expert leaders to nurture and support our younger learners. Our environment and provocations encourage tamariki to explore, discover and investigate the world around them. Tamariki are strongly immersed in Papatuanuku and the wonders of nature supporting their learning and development to flourish. Kaiako have a commitment to ongoing enquiry and professional learning opportunities.

Manaakitanga – Extending aroha and care.

We strongly value manaakitanga which is the ways we care for people, places, and things. We strive to instil qualities such as integrity, equality, nurture and care as well as being environmentally aware. We respect both parties of Te titriti O Waitangi and incorporate te reo and tikanga practices within our daily environment and routines.

Mauri – It’s me, it’s my uniqueness.

The tamariki are recognised as individuals with their own personal beliefs, cultures, knowledge, and strengths. Their individual learning journey is celebrated and supported by responsive Kaiako, allowing them to develop a strong sense of self identity, confidence, and resilience.
